Jesse and Fran in College Grove

Jesse and Fran’s shoot gave me all of the warm feelings that late summer brings. There’s something so nostalgic to me about the glowing sun dancing along long grass. While I’m not a huge fan of bugs that bite when I’m walking through fields, I love the way they dust across my camera lens and create patterns in the images. For me, these photos bring back sounds, scents, and memories of growing up in the trees and hills of Leiper’s Fork that live tucked inside my mind and resurface far too seldom.

I’ve wanted to try shooting with couples a lot recently, and I’m so thankful to Jesse and Fran for agreeing to be my models. They met when Jesse was living in Brazil and are such a fun-loving and incredible couple!
