Kat in Houma, Louisiana

When I was in Louisiana, I got the opportunity to shoot with Kat! She’s a self-described fitness junkie who has an incredible story to share about her journey to self-love and falling in love with fitness after years of struggling with depression and an unhealthy relationship with food. She works as an engineer but works (unpaid!!) on the side as a health coach for those searching for community and accountability as they travel through their fitness journey.

There were two goals I had for this session: highlighting her love of health and fitness and palm trees. Palm trees are scattered throughout our hometown in Louisiana and we were able to find the perfect ones to shoot under in the mall parking lot! I loved being able to shoot with her because not only is her health journey inspiring (she’s now training for an Ironman!) but her dedication for helping others fall in love with the process instead of the end result when it comes to fitness is an incredible thing to be around.
